Mechanically, the engine was completely locked up when the car was first brought home. Instead of immediately tearing the motor apart, we spent time carefully working it free with plenty of patience and TLC until the engine finally turned over again without requiring a full teardown. When the car was discovered, it had already been fitted with a single Weber carburetor setup, and much of the factory emissions equipment had been removed. Despite its condition, the drivetrain appeared surprisingly complete and showed signs of potential.
The restoration began with repairing the heavily rusted driver and passenger floor pans while making every effort to preserve as much of the original car as possible, including fiberglassing several rusted sections to retain the original floor pans.

At the time it was found, the car had already been fitted with a single Weber carburetor and much of the factory smog equipment had been removed, though overall the drivetrain appeared surprisingly complete. After months of work, Jublee was started for the first time in over fifteen years, marking a huge milestone in the restoration.
Unfortunately, only a few months after returning to the road, the head gasket failed and forced the car back into the garage once again. At that point, the decision was made to pull the engine and properly rebuild the drivetrain while incorporating a number of old-school vintage performance upgrades,
This Included an upgraded ignition system, Comp Tune ported and. polished race head, tubular headers, and a set of the early '60s HF4 SU carburetors.
Additional improvements included a rebuilt transmission, '60s front suspension components, a rear lowering kit, and a front sway bar to sharpen the handling characteristics.
The interior was also extensively refreshed with custom fabricated carpet and interior panels, Mazda Miata seats, and a custom stereo with a 6x9 speaker setup.
The result is a mountain carving MGB that stays true to its roots while carrying the character of a period correct vintage racer.
